Cakes wanted!

We have been asked to take part in a village fete on the Southbank on Sunday 2 May! ‘Folk Against Fascism’ is a movement that is rallying against the use of folk music and other British traditions by the BNP.  Like the new wave of W.I.s, FAF aims to keep our country’s traditions alive but with a modern twist – and what British fete would be complete without a W.I. cake stall?!
For more information on the fete, check it out here
The fete will feature a free afternoon of morris dancing, ceilidhs and lots of traditional fun, bringing all the festivity of a village celebration to the banks of the Thames.
Ceilidhs will feature the Oyster Ceilidh Band and The Old Swan Band.
Now, as well as a fun day out, this is where we are looking to you for help!  We want to raise funds for future meetings and events and general WI merriment, so we’re looking to people to make cakes/man the stall/come and support us!!
If you want to make cakes:
* We can reimburse you up to £5, which should be enough for two cakes or even more depending what you already have in your cupboard!
* Try not to make cakes with fresh cream or stuff that goes off too easily (we are inside, so no worry about things melting in the sun!)
* If you can’t make it to the fete, we’re going to try and set up ‘pick up points’ around London so we can collect them from you!
If you want to help man the stall:
* Let us know, and we’ll set up rotas!
* Even if you just offer us half an hour of your time, that’d be brilliant!
Please e-mail us here as soon as possible if you can help. Thank you so much! Any help anyone can give is very much appreciated!
