21 November meet: hula hooping!

This month we are going to have a hoop-tastic meeting. We have Anna the Hulagan from Kennington Hoopers coming along to show us how to move those hoops. Just the thing to keep warm on these cold winter nights.

Anna is “London’s cult hula hooping artiste” as described by The Times and crowned the winner of the Triple Crown Challeneg at the World Burlesque Games 2012. Her videos look A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

Hula hooping has been around for centuries, and what started off as a popular child’s game in the 1950s is now recognised as having a number of health benefits: it improves muscle tone and flexibility, gets the blood flowing, and is great for lifting the spirits (perfect as we head on towards the gloom of winter).  Here’s a little video for inspiration!

Come wearing clothes and shoes you can move around in, we will have hoops for you to use.

See you there! x

Annual membership is open! Non-members can now join. It’s £33 for membership until Jan 2014!

At our usual home of Welsh Borough Chapel, 90 Southwark Bridge Road, SE1 0EX.  Guests very welcome if you would like to come try us out!  7.30-9.30pm, doors open from 7pm.  Guests pay £3.

  1. Lovely to meet you all last night and teach you a few moves. Quite a few of you were interested in learning more, so if you’d like to come to some more classes, or you would like to own your own hoop, take a trip to the HOOPERSTORE on my website, . You can also sign up for the mailing list on the website for information on any upcoming workshops or classes. Or, email me at
    All the best,
