We planned a visit to the Southbank centre’s Christmas market for our December in person meeting, thinking it would be extra festive. On the day, transport strikes, seasonal illnesses and snow intervened meaning very few Belles and even fewer stall holders were able to make it! None of us had ever seen the South Bank so empty and it made for a slightly eerie walk!
But those that did enjoyed the warmth of the National Theatre foyer and the lovely illuminated artworks dotted around the different levels of the Southbank Centre, and then warmed up again with mulled wine and compared and contrasted the wares of the different churro sellers. We’ll have to have a return visit to go on the carousel however!
